| Students will be acquainted with various critical approaches to a Shakespearean play and learn how to read and discuss Shakespeare in both print and performance. |

| By a close reading of The Taming of the Shrew, this course aims to familiarize students with various perspectives from which to understand, discuss and enjoy a Shakespearean play. We will also watch various performances of the play both on stage and on screen and consider how Shakespeare has been interpreted and adapted in different historical, social and cultural contexts. |
